Dr. Faraaz Bhatti is an actively practicing Emergency Medicine (EM) physician, Medical Director & Chair or a Department of Emergency Medicine with specialist training in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He provides independent expert opinions in medical malpractice, Emergency Department standard of care, delayed diagnosis, wrongful death, forensic medicine, and healthcare litigation while continuing to practice clinically in a high-volume Level II Trauma Center. Dr. Bhatti is board-certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) in the United Kingdom. Having completed specialist training in both healthcare systems, he offers a unique perspective on emergency care, clinical decision-making, patient safety, and standards of care. As an ED Medical Director, Dr. Bhatti oversees physician performance, quality assurance, peer review, patient safety initiatives, clinical governance, operational performance, and implementation of evidence-based EM practices. He routinely evaluates complex clinical decisions and systems-based issues that frequently arise in EM litigation. His clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of adult and pediatric Emergency Medicine, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, psychiatric emergencies, procedural sedation, critical care, emergency procedures, and ED disposition. His opinions are grounded in contemporary EM practice and current national standards of care. Prior to relocating to the United States, Dr. Bhatti served as a Medical Director for an Emergency Department, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and an air ambulance service in Malta. He also practiced as a Forensic Medical Examiner for the Metropolitan Police Service in London and other UK police services, providing medical care to detainees in police custody. His Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences provides additional expertise in cases involving forensic medicine, police custody, trauma, intoxication, and complex medicolegal issues. Dr. Bhatti is deeply committed to medical education. He serves as Core Faculty for an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program, and is the former Chief Information Officer for Foundations of Emergency Medicine, one of the leading educational organizations for EM residency training in the US. He has also served as Senior Clinical Lecturer at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
