4Additional Information
I am a licensed Professional Engineer and Principal Electrical Engineer at Dreiym Engineering PLLC, specializing in forensic electrical investigations, failure analysis, and corrosion control. I provide expert consulting and testimony in cases involving electrical design, code compliance, industrial safety, and accident reconstruction. My work spans residential, commercial, and industrial facilities, including oil and gas, chemical processing, renewable energy, and nuclear installations. I hold a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (with a minor in Mathematics) from Washington State University. I am licensed as a Professional Engineer in multiple states, including Texas (PE #116640), and can pursue licensure in additional states as needed. I also hold certifications as a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI), and CP3 Certified. My expertise includes electrical failure analysis, arc flash hazard assessments, grounding and bonding evaluations, protective relay coordination, and corrosion control systems. I routinely conduct code compliance inspections and safety audits to ensure adherence to NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA standards. I also design and review electrical systems for industrial power applications, high-voltage equipment, and critical infrastructure. My work often involves root cause analysis, short-circuit and coordination studies, and power quality investigations, including harmonics and transient analysis. I am an active member of IEEE, AMPP, and NFPA. I frequently share my knowledge through continuing education programs and professional presentations. Recent topics include cathodic protection and corrosion investigations for the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, forensic electrical investigations for the Houston Claims Association, and impressed current cathodic protection for Liberty Mutual. Teaching and presenting allow me to stay current with evolving standards and best practices while helping others understand complex electrical issues. As an expert witness, I have extensive deposition and trial experience in both state and federal courts. I have testified in cases involving electrical fires, industrial accidents, OSHA compliance, and equipment failures. My testimony record is available upon request. I am experienced in preparing detailed reports, responding to Daubert challenges, and explaining technical concepts such as arc flash energy, grounding systems, and protective device coordination in clear, understandable terms.
