Dr. Meghan Musselman is a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. Dr. Musselman completed medical school at Temple University School of Medicine. During her medical training, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, an honor reserved for those medical students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated values of professionalism, leadership, and service. Following medical school, Dr. Musselman completed a four-year residency in psychiatry with Harvard Medical School through the Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. While in residency, Dr. Musselman was awarded the Rappeport Fellowship, an honor awarded by the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law to residents who have demonstrated excellence in the field of forensic psychiatry. Dr. Musselman also served as chief resident of the inpatient psychiatric unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. After residency, Dr. Musselman completed a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University. During her fellowship, Dr. Musselman received specialized training in conducting forensic evaluations, writing forensic reports, and testifying in court. As part of her fellowship training, she also completed a course in mental health law at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. During the course of her fellowship, Dr. Musselman performed over one hundred forensic evaluations, including but not limited to, competency to stand trial evaluations, sanity at the time of the act evaluations, and fitness for duty evaluations. Dr. Musselman also testified in court multiple times. Since completing fellowship in 2020, Dr. Musselman has become an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She also serves as the Associate Program Director for Temple University Hospital’s psychiatry residency training program. In addition to her work teaching medical students and psychiatry residents, Dr. Musselman works as an attending psychiatrist on a psychiatric inpatient unit at Temple University Hospital, Episcopal Campus. She additionally serves as a consulting psychiatrist for medically and surgically hospitalized patients at Temple University Hospital and supervises residents in both the emergency psychiatric and outpatient psychiatric settings. Dr. Musselman is an active teacher in both clinical and forensic psychiatry. She also presents locally and nationally on topics of forensic interest and has written multiple published articles and book chapters on forensic topics. As part of her ongoing forensic practice, Dr. Musselman's experience has included psychiatric consultation, record review, forensic report writing and expert testimony in civil and criminal matters.
