Curtis M. Beloy, PE is an engineering consultant with two decades of traffic crash reconstruction, accident analysis, and defect investigation experience. He analyzes incidents involving all types of vehicles and equipment- including cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, and off-highway vehicles. He uses state-of-the-art technology such as 3D laser scanning, drone surveying, EDR retrieval, vehicle dynamics simulations, photogrammetry, and engineering animations. A meticulous problem-solver and clear communicator, he has testified as an expert witness since 2008. Mr. Beloy's engineering career spans R&D in the automotive industry, accident analysis at multi-disciplinary forensic engineering firms, and vehicle design evaluations for major motorcycle and ATV manufacturers. His firm is equipped with instrumentation for testing and data collection. He has researched vehicle stability, controls, electronic aids, suspension design, engine and drivetrain failures, and overall vehicle design. He has consulted aftermarket manufacturers on product design and the US Border Patrol on ATV safety. He is a former motorcycle racer with more than 25 years of experience with vehicle repairs and tuning. Mr. Beloy graduated with honors from Minnesota State University with a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a board-certified Diplomate in Forensic Engineering. He is a member of industry societies where he keeps current with industry practices. His formal teaching experience includes roles as an Adjunct Physics Professor, STEM instructor, and graduate teaching assistant. He is Principal Engineer and Co-owner of 4Moto Engineers LLC in Madison, Wisconsin and provides consulting services nationwide.
