Curtis M. Beloy, PE is an engineering consultant to the legal and insurance industries specializing in traffic crash reconstruction and defect investigations. He analyzes collisions involving all types of vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, bicycles, commercial vehicles, electric mobility products, and pedestrians. He uses advanced tools for site and vehicle documentation, retrieval of electronic crash data (CDR), forensic video analysis, and computer simulations / animations. He is a skilled mechanic and adept at testing products or vehicles to collect objective data. An experienced instructor, he has testified as an expert witness in depositions, trials, and mediations since 2008. His engineering career with motorcycles and ATVs spans two decades of product development at OEM suppliers, crash analysis at forensic firms, and defect evaluations at a vehicle testing firm. He has evaluated large-scale recalls and crashes involving vehicle stability, controls, electronic aids, suspension, and overall vehicle design. He has consulted manufacturers on product design and the US Border Patrol on ATV safety. He is a lifelong powersports enthusiast and enjoys applying insights gained from off-road racing, performance vehicle tuning, and his first-hand experiences of vehicle crash behavior. Mr. Beloy graduated with honors from Minnesota State University with Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a board-certified Diplomate in Forensic Engineering (DFE).
