Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) in the emergency department is my area of expertise. I have personally done or reviewed thousands of point of care ultrasound exams in the last five years. If done correctly POCUS can identify or exclude a multitude of critical medical conditions including myocardial infarction, thoracic and abdominal aortic dissection, pulmonary embolism and septic shock among others. My qualifications include being a Cook County residency trained, board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with over 25 years of clinical experience.
