Additional Information

Dr. David S. Levey is a Texas-based Diagnostic Radiologist, with offices in Austin and San Antonio, working throughout Texas and the US, with nearly 35 years of experience. He provides both Insurance Defense and Plaintiff Attorney assistance as a Medical Expert, as an Expert Witness for ALL forms of Radiology and MRI studies. Dr. Levey has been in clinical practice without interruption for over three decades, and has been working as a full time Expert Witness for over 15 years. He is Board Certified, Fellowship Trained, and extensively published in the field of Radiology, including but not limited to subspecialities of Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal, Orthopedic & Spine and others (see uploaded C/V, available below). When called upon to review a case, Dr. Levey will evaluate the complete battery of medical and surgical records as needed, including but not limited to EMS and police/accident reports, initial ER visits, urgent care records, PT logs, chiropractic and pain medicine treatments, surgical evaluation and operative treatment. Additionally, Dr. Levey may be asked to review the Life Care Plan for accurate assessment of the diagnostics deemed reasonable and necessary for a lifetime of care, as well as an array of other "expert opinion reports", depositions and opinion papers that may be generated by opposing counsel in a traumatic or malpractice setting. Dr. Levey's goal is to evaluate the facts of an injury case, medical records, depositions and MRI/ radiology images and reports, to apply an independent, impartial approach for both Plaintiff and Defense firms. This includes non-traumatic cases of medical malpractice and those having a nosocomial etiology. Ultimately, Dr. Levey is called upon to establish causation related to a given injury. His consultative reports commonly include a discussion regarding cause and effect. Additionally, Dr. Levey has been working in the field of traumatic brain injury (mTBI, TBI, CTE) for decades. He has personally designed a program for obtaining 3T DTI MRI brain imaging on potentially brain-injured patients, for which he uses qualitative and quantitative brain 3T MRI DTI imaging. He has evaluated brain injured patients throughout the US and Canada. Recently, Dr. Levey was the radiology medical expert in the U.S. v. Bergdahl military case, where brain injury evaluation w/ Brain MRI DTI was employed. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: - Radiologist Medical Expert - Expert Witness/Expert Testimony - Both Consultative & Testifying Expert Witness services - Consultative reports compiled and ready without delay - Medical case review; Insurance Defense; Plaintiff Personal Injury; Medical Malpractice - Forensic Radiology: Radiology, MRI, CT & other X-ray analysis - both Adult & Pediatric - Oral and Videotaped depositions, Zoom and live in-court appearance - Qualitative 3T DTI Brain MRI w/ 3D color-coded Tractography, SWI, FLAIR, ADC - Quantitative DTI laboratory analysis offering NeuroQuant® & LesionQuant® Dr. Levey interfaces on a regular basis with Attorneys/ Law Firms/ Insurance companies, providing unbiased analysis of data for case evaluation and resolution, available for both defense and plaintiff attorneys. He has also been involved in a large number of cases where he was asked to evaluate a case for the the presence or absence of a link to causation. He welcomes discussions with Attorneys, ZOOM meetings and cause-and-effect analysis- where he may called upon to work with other treating or expert Physicians. Many Radiologists are unable/untrained/unwilling to do this kind of work, as they are part of a larger Radiology group practice that admonishes any interface with Attorneys. Dr. Levey is self-employed and self-governed; therefore due to his interest in the field, he has made this a primary professional interest.
