Dr. Greer is a general neurologist with over 16 years of experience in a busy community adult neurology practice. He treats patients with a wide variety of neurologic conditions and has a special interest /expertise in movement disorders. He manages patients with extensive histories of stroke, seizure, and TBI. He also sees and manages patients who were recently see in the acute care setting in transition to outpatient care. He has expertise in botulinum toxin (‘Botox’) injection for various neurologic conditions including chronic migraine, dystonia, and spasticity. He sees patient who have Deep Brain Stimulators ( Parkinson disease, Dystonia and Essential Tremor) and Vagal nerve stimulators ( in the management of mediation-refractory epilepsy). For particularly complex patients in north Alabama, he coordinates care with Vanderbilt and UAB. He has privileges at Crestwood Hospital and is a community faculty member for their new Internal Medicine training program. Dr. Greer has been on the speaker's bureau for three different pharmaceutical agents in years past and has enjoyed speaking to range of different audiences. A favorite of Speaking with various different patient support groups in town (and in the region) has been a consistent favorite. These groups provide education for patients and families with Parkinson disease, Essential Tremor, and Alzheimer's disease. He was recently honored to speak at the regional Parkinson Disease Foundation Gulf Coast states' meeting.
