Dr. Sabrina Taylor is a doctoral level vocational rehabilitation professional with more than 15 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, disability, employment, and counseling. She specializes in evaluating how disability, injury, psychological conditions, functional limitations, education, work history, and transferable skills affect an individual's ability to obtain, maintain, and return to employment. Dr. Taylor holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Counseling and Rehabilitation Counselor Education. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the District of Columbia, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and a Certified Work Incentives Practitioner. Her professional career spans vocational rehabilitation, disability services, vocational assessment, employment services, benefits counseling, behavioral health, program leadership, and higher education. As Founder and CEO of Benefits Understood Counseling Services, Dr. Taylor leads a vocational rehabilitation practice providing disability and employment related services. She has extensive experience assessing barriers to employment, reviewing vocational and work histories, evaluating transferable skills, addressing functional limitations, identifying employment options, and examining the relationship between disability and an individual's ability to participate in the labor market. Dr. Taylor's experience includes work with individuals with physical disabilities, psychiatric conditions, cognitive impairments, autism, vision loss, and chronic health conditions. Her multidisciplinary background allows her to consider the vocational implications of both physical and psychological conditions when evaluating employability, work capacity, and access to employment. Dr. Taylor is a former tenured university faculty member and former Department Chair of Psychology, Counseling, and Behavioral Health. She currently teaches graduate level counseling students and has extensive experience educating professionals and translating complex vocational, rehabilitation, disability, and behavioral health concepts into clear and understandable conclusions.
