5Additional Information
I am a snow sports expert in skiing, sledding, tubing, duty of care, cause, proximate cause, and negligence. I am a ski instructor certified by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and a licensed Professional Engineer. The combination of my skiing and engineering knowledge, skills, education, training, and experience distinguishes me as an expert who clearly understands the situations, mechanics, and physics of snow sports incidents, and a scientist who is qualified to perform accident reconstruction. My roles in the ski industry include, but are not limited to Region Director, Discipline Chairperson, Education Team Member, Trainer, and Examiner for multiple PSIA regions. I am a L100 Race Coach and Official certified by the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA). I have over 55-seasons of on-hill snow sports experience, including safety, risk management, organization, and operations. I have a clear understanding of snow sports physics and mechanics through my PSIA, USSA, and engineering education and over 42-years of professional engineering practice. I am a licensed Professional Engineer in 14-states and own an active Civil Engineering expert witness practice. Care equals quality, and I care about your case. My communication, research, and writing skills combined with my professional experience give me the ability to originate expert reports and provide testimony that is unbiased and articulates informative fact-based narratives. At age 51, I was admitted to the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, and after two years of intensive research, peer reviewed writing, and honing my communications skills, I earned my MPA. Throughout my career I have developed the ideal skill set for Expert Witness work, grounded in over 55-ski seasons, over 44-seasons as a ski instructor certified by PSIA, five levels of PSIA certifications and two levels of accreditation, and being certified by USSA as a L100 Race Coach and Official. My expertise has also been enhanced by my practice as a licensed Civil Engineer, veracious lifelong learning, business acumen, graduate level communication, forensic research, and writing skills, and entrepreneurial mastery. This exceptional skill set gives me the ability to write clear expert reports and provide authentic testimony that explains complex concepts in plain easy to understand language that educates and has a high-impact on counsel, trial judges, and juries.
