Additional Information

ANIMALS: HORSES, DOGS, CATS, CATTLE, POULTRY, SNAKES, RABBITS, For the past 8 years, I have served on the Welfare Committees for both the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) where I currently serve as the chairwoman for the welfare committee. I have won multiple professional awards from the Humane Society of the U S and AAEP for my contributions for identifying and ending equine abuse and neglect. My welfare cases also include additional species other than horses: cattle, dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, poultry and snakes. Often, hoarding cases encompass more than one animal species and it is imperative that the expert witness is familiar with species challenges and differences to ensure successful prosecution. For the past 15 years, many of my animal neglect cases reflect hoarding scenarios which can be a welfare challenge due to the emotional consequences and balances separating human addiction with animal welfare. I volunteer my time training attorneys, law enforcement, prosecutors, and shelter employees on identifying animal abuse and neglect and successfully prosecuting these cases. I have never lost a welfare case in court.
