I am a practicing neurologist, sub-specializing in Concussion/mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI) and Neurophysiology/Neuromuscular diseases. I earned my medical degree (M.D.) at the SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York, and then went on to complete my residency in Neurology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. During residency, I was elected to serve as Chief Resident. Following residency, I completed a fellowship in Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular diseases, also at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. I began private practice in 2006, in St. Petersburg, Florida. In addition to my private practice and multiple hospital affiliations, I served a two-year stint as the Chief of Medicine at the Bayfront Medical Center, a major level 2 Trauma center. I was the co-director of a multidisciplinary Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) clinic from 2007 – 2013. Starting in September 2009, I was elected to be the Southeast Examining Neurologist for the National Football League (NFL) Player Benefit Association – Head Injury/Concussion Program. Following this experience, I began, and continue, to provide Independent Medical Examinations and expert opinions for retired NFL players as part of the concussion program. Through this experience, I have evaluated approximately 140 retired professional athletes for closed head injuries and concussion related deficits. Locally, I have worked with student athletes, trauma victims, and, on a daily basis, evaluate those suffering from spinal and traumatic brain injuries related to motor vehicle accidents and falls. I remain an active member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA) & the North American Brain Injury Society (NABIS), and regularly attend the national and international meetings on traumatic brain injury. I have extensive experience performing and interpreting nerve conductions and electromyography (NCV/EMG), as well as administering and interpreting Neurocognitive testing. Furthermore, I have extensive experience with Videonystagmography (VNG) and QEEG/Brain mapping interpretation.I regularly supervise TBI, vestibular, and neurocognitive rehabilitation in my practice. I am well versed in spinal and Brain MRI interpretation, including diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and volumetric assessment (e.g. Neuroquant). I hold unrestricted medical licenses in Florida, Texas, Nevada, Colorado, and Lousiana. I have >8 years medical/legal experience, with strong deposition/trial experience in the Tampa Bay Area.
