Dr. Patel is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He has practiced clinical medicine in diverse settings: private groups, hospital-employed, large academic institutions, smaller community hospitals, and teaching programs. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews (JPCRR), an open-access, peer-reviewed medical journal; and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Patel is an EPIC-certified physician informatics lead and develops IT solutions to improve patient care, and health outcomes as well as to reduce errors. He provides expert clinician input in developing solutions for a multitude of quality improvement and healthcare initiatives. Dr. Patel’s diverse experiences in healthcare delivery, quality improvement, healthcare informatics, and medical education make him well-equipped with the qualities needed in an ideal expert witness.
