Dr. Timothy Sestak is currently CEO of Timothy A. Sestak, Ph.D., PLLC. He was previously a Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2010 to 2019 as faculty, teaching in the College of Aviation. He has managed high technology programs involving hardware and software systems integration for the US Navy, Boeing, B/E Aerospace, NASA, The Research Triangle Institute, IBM and small businesses. Dr. Sestak has extensive experience in a wide range of technology to include sensors, aerodynamics, human factors, human-machine and human computer interface, system logistics, and software development. Dr. Sestak has extensive experience in the aerospace industry including program management, research and development, systems engineering, product development, operations, support, and logistics. He has directed projects and programs for a wide range of hardware, software, avionics, and systems integration programs. These programs include the Navy Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System (LAMPS), Low-Frequency Dipping Sonar, Presidential AH-60A Helicopter, and a variety of special operations programs, Boeing wide-body airliners (747,767, 777), Joint Strike Fighter, Maritime Patrol Helicopter, Nimrod, and F-22, and integration of IBM Cell Broadband Engine technology into systems from medical 3-D sonogram, gaming, computer security, military, and aerospace applications. Dr. Sestak has worked on government programs developing plans for a national vertiport system and a national small aircraft transportation system. He also was a principal systems engineering supervisor for a program developing a comprehensive, automated, cradle-to-grave logistics support system for military and commercial aircraft. He has an in-depth human factors and man-machine interface background. Dr. Sestak is experienced in the application of Earned Value, Six Sigma, and ISO9000 in program management. He has an MS in Aeronautical Engineering, an MBA, is a Naval War College Graduate, and holds a Ph.D. from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in their ground breaking doctorate in Aviation.. Dr. Sestak is an experienced military and civil pilot, having flown a wide variety of aircraft to include the UH-1N, H-53, H-60, AH-64 and other helicopters, and including T-34C, F-18, P-3, and other fixed-wing aircraft. Dr. Sestak holds FAA certification as a commercial and instrument pilot for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft and is a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI), a Certificated Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII), and an Advanced Ground School Instructor (AGI). Dr. Sestak also holds a United States Parachute Association (USPA) Expert license as a skydiver and wingsuit flyer. He is also a licensed hang glider pilot. Dr. Sestak has experience as an expert witness for litigation concerning aircraft construction, aircraft development, aircraft software development, aviation industry intellectual property, engineering documentation, and aircraft hardware/software integration and certification.
