Currently independently working as an Emeritus Architect consulting for building enclosure forensic & diagnostic of existing building enclosure condition assessments & documentation, building damage analysis with cause, origin, & extent of damage opinions, estimates of costs to repair or replace, building design & construction document reviews, construction quality assurance inspections, effective performance verification test recommendations, provide legal question & issue consulting, depositions & trial testimony for numerous lawsuits and insurance claims for both plaintiff or claimant & defense. Legal issues include building construction & material defects, design errors & omissions, personal injury, and property damage from wind & other weather causes, tidal surge & rising water, and fire. He has Bachelor and Master of Architecture degrees from the Tulane University School of Architecture. As an Emeritus Architect, with over fifty years’ experience, he provides building condition assessment & damage analysis as to cause & origin, and planning, design, and construction management of a wide variety of building types that include commercial office and retail, institutional, government, healthcare, airport terminals, warehouses, parking structures, single and multi-family residential, including high-rise buildings, and prototype resort housing. Professional experience includes working for Architect/Engineer firms, Texas state government agencies, and public and private clients, providing building design, production of construction document drawings & specifications, and construction contract administration, as well as serving as a referee on a variety of construction dispute mediation cases. Currently independently employed as a forensic & diagnostic consulting Architect providing analysis of building envelope design, construction, maintenance, condition assessments, building enclosure commissioning (BECx), construction quality assurance inspections, damage and defect analysis, peer reviews of building design & construction documents and expert witness consulting services for a wide variety of building types. Clients are building owners, Attorneys, other Architects, general contractors, insurance adjusters, and government agencies. Currently a Registered Architect in Texas, since1974 by exam, and previously in Florida - AR-0014769 (1994-2004), and the U.S. Virgin Islands – 627-A (1996-2004) with NCARB Certificate.
