Dr. Brown provides psychological evaluations, expert testimony, file review, and consultation for criminal and civil cases. She has extensive knowledge of of mental disorders from a clinical practice perspective as well as a skeptical scientific one. She also has extensive knowledge of psychological tests and behavioral measures and the process of analyzing and interpreting them. She offers highly specialized expertise in detection of malingering and deception. She completed a research focused graduate program before she began pursing forensic practice during internship. She then completed a forensic internship and postdoctoral supervision and was licensed to practice in Louisiana in 2015. She worked at the maximum security unit of the state forensic hospital for 5 years and has worked in various other settings including a VA outpatient clinic, immigration detention, bariatric surgical center, community mental health clinic, acute inpatient unit, university athlete testing program, sex offender treatment program, employee assistance program, group living facility for adolescent vitims of sex trafficking, and an outpatient substance abuse program. Dr. Brown has authored several peer-reviewed research publications and has conducted hundreds of forensic evaluations. She has been qualified as an expert in clinical and forensic psychology and offered expert testimony in several Louisiana district courts. She is currently in private practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
