Dr. Garrett is a licensed physician in Washington State and Idaho. Serving the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas locally, and available for cases nationally. Dr. Garrett completed psychiatry residency at the University of Washington, followed by a one-year fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Garrett is the medical director of behavioral health services at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, ID. He maintains a full-time clinical practice working primarily as an inpatient adult psychiatrist. Dr. Garrett has experience providing hospital services including adult inpatient services, consultation liaison, inpatient addiction, and emergency department consults. His work also includes behavioral health collaborative care with primary care clinics, as well as supervising therapists overseeing the hospital’s intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Dr. Garrett generates clear and thorough forensic reports supported with DSM5-TR criteria and appropriate medical citations as necessary.
