Additional Information

Richard N. Bradley, M.D., FACEP, FAEMS is a board‑certified Emergency Medicine physician with subspecialty certification in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He brings more than 30 years of operational, clinical, administrative, and investigative experience across EMS systems, emergency departments, disaster response, and military medical operations. His expert witness work focuses on EMS standards of care, dispatch and response‑time issues, prehospital clinical decision‑making, protocol adherence, air medical transport, disaster medicine, and system‑level performance. Dr. Bradley is fellowship trained in EMS and has served as an EMS Medical Director for multiple agencies. He founded and led the Division of EMS and Disaster Medicine at McGovern Medical School, created the school’s EMS Fellowship, and taught medical students, residents, and fellows in EMS operations, disaster medicine, and prehospital care. He began his career as an EMT in 1980 and practiced as a paramedic in three states before medical school. He also has more than twenty years of experience as a volunteer firefighter. Dr. Bradley has extensive national leadership experience. He serves on the National EMS Advisory Council (chairing the Equitable Care Committee), is a member of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation First Aid Task Force, serves on the American Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council, and is a board member of both the Citizen CPR Foundation and the International Trauma Life Support Foundation. He is the EMS Group Editor for Doody’s Book Review Service and a Senior Editor for BMC Emergency Medicine. His military background includes service as a Colonel in the Texas Air National Guard, Flight Surgeon qualification, and extensive experience as a Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT) physician. He completed four combat deployments and provided critical care transport for dozens of wounded service members. Dr. Bradley is also deeply experienced in disaster response. He is one of only three physicians nationwide assigned as a Medical Officer to FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Incident Support Teams. Over three decades, he has led medical personnel during deployments to more than thirty disasters, including hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and mass‑casualty events. Dr. Bradley’s expert witness work is known for being objective, evidence‑based, and clearly referenced. He provides thorough case review, medical causation analysis, and clear explanations of EMS standards, protocols, and operational decision‑making. He works closely with attorneys to help them understand both the strengths and potential vulnerabilities of their case.
