Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Caleb M. Sturm is a Director in the J.S. Held, LLC Construction Advisory practice. Caleb is engaged by parties in the construction industry regarding matters of schedule delay & work disruption, losses in productivity, claim formulation & review, quantum of economic damages, cost auditing, risk management, and project administration procedures. Caleb has performed analyses on claims and disputes ranging from $1 million to $250 million. Caleb has worked with counsel in preparing for mediation, conducting negotiation discussions, and providing expert testimony. Mr. Sturm also consults with parties in the planning, scheduling, control, and mitigation of project risk. His experience in proactive and forensic capacities allows him to anticipate risks and challenges at each stage of the project life cycle. Caleb is advanced in the development of best practices and procedures in the active management of projects. Caleb accumulated his construction industry experience through employment in both contractor and owner capacities – Jacobs Engineering, Balfour Beatty, CH2M Hill, and Southern Company Gas. In these roles he provided scheduling, cost management, change management, claim evaluations, and risk management for multi-year capital programs. Caleb’s experience base extends to projects within the United States, Latin America, and South America. In addition to his approximately 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Caleb holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, and a master’s degree in construction management. Caleb has also been recognized by industry organizations as a Planning & Scheduling Professional, Certified Cost Professional, and a Certified Construction Auditor. Caleb is the Director of the Southeast Region for the North American Chapter of the Society of Construction Law and is council member for the Associated General Contractors of Georgia. He is an active member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and the National Association of Construction Auditors (NACA).
