Additional Information

Internal Medicine Residency: Duke University Endocrinology Fellowship: Univ Texas Southwestern, Dallas Board certifications: Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, and Obesity Medicine Dr. Roe provides expert review in personal injury and wrongful death cases involving patients with complex medical problems including diabetes and obesity, where the volume of medical information can obscure key details vital to resolving questions of causation. Her medical office can download and interpret insulin pump and glucose monitor data to create meaningful exhibits to help Courts understand the contribution of glucose variability in accident and injury cases. Dr. Roe trained at a large county-based public hospital which offered exposure to all disease stages and complications of diabetes in patients from all walks of life. As a practicing endocrinologist, she participated in medical research on novel diabetes therapeutics and the NIH-sponsored GRADE study. She is a clinical assistant professor (affiliate) with Texas A&M College of Medicine and teaches third and fourth year medical students and residents in the Baylor Scott & White Internal Medicine residency program. With broad training in adult inpatient and outpatient internal medicine, Dr. Roe can comb through decades of prior health history to create a usable framework to guide mediation and pre-settlement discussions. Her reports are succinct and referenced to external medical records and mainstream literature. Her testimony is plain-spoken, approachable and at times, pointed when the situation requires. Outside of the office, she serves as an Expert Panelist with the Texas Medical Board and a Dallas County Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for medically-complicated children in the foster care system.
