Kevin Morley currently serves as the head athletic trainer for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. He has worked in the Devils organization, in a variety of capacities, since 2007. Prior to his time with the Devils he worked in the Sports Medicine Department at Miami (OH) University. He has provided freelance athletic training services at extreme sports events, both domestically and internationally since 2000. He is an expert in the areas of sports medicine in professional sports, sports medicine in ice hockey, and sports medicine in extreme sports. Kevin’s current role is to collaborate with the sports medicine and performance staffs in providing medical care to the New Jersey Devils. Additionally, he interfaces with the medical staff of the Devils minor league affiliate, the Binghamton Devils, in monitoring the care of players assigned to the AHL. Kevin’s role includes domestic and international travel, managing medical care provision at home and on the road. On March 10, 2020 Kevin “worked the bench” for his 1000th professional hockey game. He has served on various committees for the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers’ Society in conjunction with the Joint Health and Safety Committee, a group made up of representatives from the NHL, the NHL Players’ Association, the NHL Team Physicians’ Society and the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers’ Society.
