Dr. Rehberg currently serves as a professor of athletic training and sports medicine, and is the Coordinator of Athletic Training Clinical Education at William Paterson University. Dr. Rehberg also serves as a medical adviser and coordinator of the Athletic Trainer Spotter program for the National Football League. He is also the subject matter expert for first aid and emergency preparedness programs for the National Safety Council. Previously, Dr. Rehberg served on staff at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ, where he worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the Atlantic Neuroscience Institute’s Center for Concussion Care. Other previous employment includes serving as head athletic trainer at Westwood Regional High School in New Jersey. Dr. Rehberg co-founded the Rehberg Konin Group, a firm specializing in consulting in sports medicine, sport safety and risk management expert services. He is also the co-founder, President and CEO of Sport Safety International, an organization dedicated to promoting safe participation in sport and physical activity through education. Dr. Rehberg has a distinguished scholarly background, including over a dozen refereed articles in scholarly journals, and over 40 articles in other publications. He is the primary author and editor of two textbooks, and over a dozen online programs that have educated over one million people worldwide. Dr. Rehberg has a long and distinguished history in serving his profession, having served in several leadership roles, and his accomplishments have been recognized through several honors and awards. He is a Hall of Fame inductee of both the Athletic Trainers’ Society of NJ and the NJ Scholastic Coaches Association, is the recipient the Service Award from both the ATSNJ and NATA, and was recognized as a Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer by the NATA. He also received the NATA’s Excellence in Continuing Education award and the William T. Griffin Award for Excellence in Legislative Advocacy
