Mr. Marcor Platt is a licensed civil and/or structural engineer in 20 states - namely Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Washington. He provides expert opinion reports and testimony for structural and civil projects involving both forensic engineering and design engineering. He has conducted over 600 forensic investigations involving roof failures, wall failures, foundation issues, corrosion, or other forms of damage resulting from rain, hail, wind, snow, tornado, hurricane, earthquake, lightning, fire, volcano, tropical storm, vehicle impact, construction defect, or other natural or man-made events. He has testified at depositions and trials regarding concrete roof tile wind damage, post-tensioned slab adequacy to resist punching shear, project cost estimates, wall structural adequacy to resist wind forces, horizontal and vertical discontinuities, truss repair versus replacement, and other topics. Mr. Platt has structural/civil engineering and project management experience across the fields of transmission line structural design and evaluation and residential, commercial, and industrial building design, evaluation, and retrofit. His experience includes high- and low-voltage power line support structures, tract houses, landscape structures, theaters, pharmacies, restaurants, custom homes, multi-story apartments over podium slabs, and other structures utilizing wood, masonry, steel, concrete, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer. He has provided fall protection anchorage evaluation and design at industrial structures. He has designed unique structures and retrofits including cantilevered towers, parabolic steel arch trusses, and fiber-reinforced polymer retrofits to post-tensioned concrete slabs. Mr. Platt is a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) record-holder with Civil and Structural Model Law status, and therefore has the ability to obtain additional state licensure as required in a timely manner, depending on the jurisdiction.
