Mr. Marcor Platt is a licensed civil and/or structural engineer (PE/SE) in 21 US states or territories - namely Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, the US Virgin Islands, and Washington. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). He provides expert opinion reports and testimony for structural and civil projects involving both forensic engineering, design engineering, and project management. He has conducted over 600 forensic investigations involving roof failures, wall failures, foundation issues, corrosion, or other forms of damage resulting from rain, hail, wind, snow, tornado, hurricane, earthquake, lightning, fire, volcano, tropical storm, vehicle impact, construction defect, or other natural or man-made events. He has testified at depositions and trials regarding economic feasibility of underground versus overhead power lines, concrete roof tile wind damage, post-tensioned slab adequacy to resist punching shear, wall structural adequacy to resist wind forces, horizontal and vertical discontinuities, truss repair versus replacement, and other topics. Mr. Platt has structural/civil engineering and project management experience across the fields of electrical transmission line structural design and evaluation and residential, commercial, and industrial building design, evaluation, and retrofit. His design and analysis experience includes high- and low-voltage power line support structures, storm shelters, solary array support structures, industrial facilities, LED highway signs, vehicular bridges, tract houses, custom homes, multi-story apartments over podium slabs, landscape structures, theaters, pharmacies, restaurants, diesel garages, and other structures utilizing wood, masonry, steel, concrete, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer. He has provided fall protection anchorage evaluation and design at industrial structures. He has designed unique structures and retrofits including a water tower seismic retrofit, a parabolic steel arch truss grid supporting solar arrays, a tapered masonry monument, and fiber-reinforced polymer retrofits to post-tensioned concrete slabs. He is also a certified Mr. Platt is a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) record-holder with Civil and Structural Model Law status. He is the owner of Marcor Structural Expert Network (MarcorSEN Engineering), a civil and structural engineering firm focusing on expert collaboration across multiple discplines. He is also the sole proprietor of Marcor Forensic and Expert Consulting, focusing on expert witness work. This combination of model law status and sole propriertorship equips him with the unique ability to rapidly obtain licensure in any US state or territory where his expertise may be required.
