I currently serve as the Vice Chair for Surgical Quality, Patient Safety and Performance Improvement for the Department of Surgery. Over the years, I have served as Chief of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care (and Trauma Program Medical Director) at two different Trauma Centers. I have significant clinical and administrative leadership experience and have lead numerous peer and quality group review committees and group case reviews. I have significant experience in reviewing and evaluating surgical cases for complications, errors, appropriate management and care as well as serving as an expert witness in numerous medical-legal cases. I have a breadth of experience in graduate and undergraduate medical education and have also obtained an Executive Healthcare MBA degree. I am considered to be a content expert in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, General Surgery and Healthcare Quality. I have also served on numerous national board of surgery examiner's committees and have participated as an examiner on the national written and oral board examinations in the above-mentioned specialties.
