Dr. Toranto is a Dual-Board Certified Plastic and Craniofacial Surgeon who has been in practice for 7 years. He has previously been retained by both plaintiff and defense counsel and has experience using HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing to communicate with counsel as well as his patients. After receiving his B.S. with honors and M.D. from Stanford University and University of Michigan, respectively, he continued his medical training for an additional 9 years. He completed a General Surgery residency (5 years) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by Plastic Surgery residency (3 years) at Duke University, and finally a Pediatric Plastic and Craniofacial fellowship (1 year) at Children's Hospital Los Angeles/University of Southern California. Dr. Toranto began practice at the University of California, Irvine where he was an Assistant Professor, the Director of Craniofacial Surgery and the Co-Director of Research in the Department of Plastic Surgery. He later transitioned to private practice at Senta Clinic where he is currently the Chief of Plastic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Dr. Toranto has published numerous articles and given many presentations/invited lectures. He continues to educate as Faculty with the AO Foundation, helping teach the next generation of surgeons about craniofacial reconstruction. Dr. Toranto is actively involved in medical staff affairs, as well, serving on the Credentials Committee as well as the Medical Executive Committee. He is also a Board Member of the Stephen Pruitt Skull Base Foundation.
