Williams is a Harvard-trained, double board-certified (Internal Medicine, Nephrology) full-time practicing academic nephrologist in Boston, Massachusetts. He is Director of Dialysis at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Senior Staff Physician at the Joslin Diabetes Center, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Williams is a Nationally- and Internationally-recognized leader in the field of chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, diabetes complication, and all forms of renal replacement therapy, including acute and chronic dialysis and therapeutic plasma exchange. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, where he has served on numerous committees and given invited lectures, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He has served on Editorial Boards of the leading kidney journals. Dr. Williams’ research has been presented at numerous National and International nephrology meetings. He has been cited as one of America’s Top Physicians by the National Consumer Advisory Board, and listed among Boston Magazine’s Top Doctors multiple occasions. A major current focus of Dr. Williams’ academic activity is on quality of care in acute and chronic dialysis.
