Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Currently serving as an assistant professor at a major academic medical center with extensive experience in community settings. Licensed in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Served as a medical officer in the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Commander. Awarded 3 Navy Achievement Medals. Experienced in all settings: from the sands of Afghanistan, to the beaches of Okinawa, to academic centers, all the way to the rural South. Fluent in English and Spanish with formal training in medical Spanish. Well versed in critical care for the spectrum of life: precipitous deliveries, pediatric medicine, trauma, geriatric emergency medicine. Expert in airway emergencies with proficient use of a variety of modalities. Extensive experience in the transfer of patients: both at accepting facilities and rural facilities with limited resources. PADI Rescue Diver. Trained VA disability evaluator. Experienced in both state and federal courts as well as criminal and civil cases.
