Dr. Roy Artal is a multi-board-certified physician specializing in pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and critical care medicine, with more than 20 years of full-time clinical practice in Southern California. He has served as a medical-legal expert witness on behalf of both plaintiff and defense counsel for over 20 years, having reviewed 100-plus cases, provided deposition testimony on approximately 20 occasions, and authored detailed, evidence-based medical-legal reports; his opinions have never been excluded. A graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine, Dr. Artal completed his undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Southern California, his Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine through the Cedars-Sinai–UCLA–Veterans Administration Combined Fellowship Program. He has been in full-time clinical practice since 2001 and is a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, where he also serves as Sleep Center Network Director for the Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation. Board certified in Pulmonary Disease, Sleep Medicine, and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Artal also holds an additional board certification in Sleep Medicine from the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a published author, a regular lecturer to the Cedars-Sinai Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program, a former Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, a Fellow of both the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and an experienced clinical trials principal investigator.
