Dr. Campion is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics. His clinical practice includes more than 25 years of office and hospital medicine. He has led electronic health record (EHR) implementation and optimization efforts in both hospital and medical group settings at the vice president and director levels. He has been active in the user group communities of large EHRs including Meditech and Epic. He has held leadership positions at health IT companies in areas of drug effectiveness, vaccine safety, clinical quality reporting and artificial intelligence applications for medical practice. Companies include Quintiles (now IQVIA), Dovetail Health (now Optum) and IBM Watson Health. He is on the faculty at Harvard Medical School with research focused on improving clinical decision making and patient safety. He is author of numerous articles and two books: Grand Rounds on Medical Malpractice focused on physician-patient communication, and Machine Intelligence for Healthcare on advanced health analytics. He practices general internal medicine, caring for a panel of primary care patients at the Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, a multispecialty group practice in Boston, MA. He has particular expertise in patients with multiple co-morbidities and served as director of the medical group’s Complex Chronic Care program.
