Co-edited a major textbook in medical toxicology, and extensive publications and research. Former program director of both an emergency medicine residency and a medical toxicology fellowship. Over 40 years of clinical experience in both emergency medicine and medical toxicology, providing clinical care for thousands of patients with poisonings, drug overdoses, substance abuse, and environmental and occupational toxic exposures. Former Division Chief of both Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology at 2 major medical institutions, and founder of one of the busiest medical toxicology practice groups in the United States. Received the Matthew Ellenhorn Award from the American College of Medical Toxicology for outstanding contributions to the field of medical toxicology. Over thirty years of experience in reviewing or testifying as an expert witness in over 300 cases involving possible medical malpractice, impairment, forensic toxicology, standards of care in medical toxicology, and other medicolegal issues in emergency medicine and medical toxicology.
