She maintains an active general and pediatric ophthalmology practice and serves as a primary participant in her hospital’s trauma call rotation, managing acute ocular injuries and ophthalmic emergencies. Over the course of her career, Dr. Akor has evaluated and treated hundreds of acute ocular trauma cases, including open globe injuries, orbital fractures, intra-ocular foreign bodies, traumatic optic neuropathy, hyphema, retinal detachment, and post-traumatic diplopia.
