I am a board certified clinical Endocrinologist. I have worked as a clinical endocrinologist with larger health care systems. I am the physician/owner of a Direct Care Endocrinology practice, Liberty Endocrinology. I have always enjoyed teaching at various levels including teaching experience with residents as a hospitalist and later as a fellow in training . I love working with my patients and teaching them how best to manage their medical conditions. I have enjoyed work which involves attention to detail. This ties into my clinical work as well as my experience as a physician reviewer in Utilization management. My practice, Liberty Endocrinology, operates a direct care model where I aim to provide my patients with more time and quicker access to their physician. I am ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition. I completed a BS in Human Nutrition at Michigan State University and MD at Wayne State University. I also have performed non-degree studies in Public Health. I completed specialty training in Internal Medicine at Baltimore City Hospital/Francis Scott Key Medical Center/Johns Hopkins University and a Clinical/Senior Research Fellowship in Endocrinology and Nutrition at the University of Washington. Academic faculty positions have included Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Tulane University, Louisiana State University-New Orleans and Pennington Biomedical Research Center. My research has focused on the effects of nutrients, hormones and estrogen on lipid and bone metabolism.
