...I became very proficient in performing the pain relieving procedures including but not limited to cervical, thoracic and lumbar translaminar and transforaminal epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation of medial branches, lateral branches and peripheral nerves after the appropriate preliminary blocks, spinal cord stimulator trial placement and permanent placement.
The work in pain medicine required management of narcotics, a progression to additional training in addiction medicine became necessary. Obtained special training and waiver from Dept. of Health and Human Services for Opiod addiction treatment to manage Suboxone, Subutex and buprenorphine. Obtained the ACGME recognized board certification for Addiction Medicine.
