Dr. Chigozirim "Chigo" Ekeke is a board-certified thoracic surgeon and Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Michigan, where he also serves as Surgical Director of the Michigan Surgical Health & Optimization Program (MSHOP), the institution's perioperative optimization and prehabilitation program.
Dr. Ekeke maintains a high-volume robotic thoracic surgical practice with particular expertise in esophageal surgery, lung cancer resection, chest wall reconstruction, and minimally invasive techniques. He is among the highest-volume chest wall surgeons in the state of Michigan. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of general thoracic surgery, including complex esophageal, airway, lung, mediastinal, and chest wall disease, treated with advanced endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques.
