Jane Alexandra Kessler earned her Bachelor of Science (Sc.B.) degree at Brown University, graduating summa cum laude. She received her M.A. in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), completing predoctoral internships at the University of Michigan's Psychological Clinic and at the Detroit Psychiatric Institute (DPI) on the Children’s Inpatient Service. Later, she was a staff psychologist and clinical supervisor on the Children’s Inpatient Service at DPI. She worked for the Family Division of Michigan’s Sixth Circuit Court as well as the Juvenile Court in Wayne County, MI, evaluating children and families in child custody matters and abuse/neglect proceedings.
