Starting from his childhood in Upstate New York, Connor developed a fascination for weather across all four seasons. These interests led him to study meteorology at SUNY Oneonta, where he served as president of the local American Meteorological Society (AMS) chapter. He then earned an M.S. and Ph.D. from Penn State, where he studied land-atmosphere interactions and precipitation patterns across the Central and Eastern United States. His research has been published in the Journal of Applied Meteorology and Climatology.
