Dr. Holt attended Duke University, graduating magna cum laude and earned her MD degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Her Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism was completed at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and she obtained board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She practiced general Endocrinology for 28 years in Raleigh, NC, USA. Dr. Holt then transitioned to the biopharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs. She attained the position of Head of Global Medical, Clinical, and Safety at LifeScan Enterprises, LLC prior to her retirement from full-time employment in January, 2026.
Dr. Holt has an academic appointment as Assistant Consulting Professor of Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. She also served as a co-Director for Taking Control of Your Diabetes.
