I am a Registered Nurse (RN) with over 20 years of experience in the medical field and 10 years of experience as an RN. The majority of my career as an RN has been in a correctional setting. I have been a Certified Correctional Healthcare Provider (CCHP) since 2022. I also have medical experience in the fields of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and Endocrinology. I obtained my Associate Nursing Degree from Taylor College in 2016. I began working at a county correctional facility in 2018 as a Charge RN managing 500+ inmates. My duties there included new intake medical screenings, detox evaluations, emergency response, and coordinating care with providers. I was later promoted to the Director of Nursing (DON) position where I was responsible for managing the care provided by all nursing staff at the facility to ensure adherence to national standards of care as well as applicable policies and procedures.
