About Professor Paul Werfel
Professor Paul Werfel brings more than four decades of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) expertise to his clients, learners, and colleagues. A nationally recognized educator, international speaker, and published author, he has written over 50 articles, magazine columns, and book chapters, and has been a practicing New York State and nationally registered paramedic since 1983.
Paul spent fourteen years as a paramedic in New York City and held key leadership roles at major medical centers, including serving as Program Coordinator for Advanced Cardiac, Trauma, and Pediatric Life Support at the Emergency Care Institute at Bellevue Hospital–NYU Medical Center, and as Emergency Care Programs Coordinator at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York.
