Welcome! I am a Board-Certified full-time academic OBGYN Hospitalist, performing inpatient medicine for OBGYN. For the last 10+ years, I've worked 95% of my time solely on labor and delivery with the other 5% Emergency Department GYN consults and surgeries. Prior, I was a full-scope, full-time OBGYN in practice for 6 years with a major HMO and an academic practice. On average I see 8-14 patients per shift, 230+ patients per month and I see patients at all stages of pregnancy in the hospital: including complications presenting to the main emergency department, to the OB emergency department (triage), management of antenatal admissions, consults, and admissions to labor & delivery and management of postpartum course as well. I was born and raised in Rochester, MI and at 17yo joined the U.S. Navy as a Aviation Electrician's Mate, once promoted to E-6 I began my college studies towards Nursing. When I graduated with my BSN, I was commissioned into the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. I retired from the Navy in 2016 and completed my MSN in Nursing Education. I have practiced obstetrics and gynecology since 2006. I have specialized in hospital based obstetrics and gynecology since 2008. This includes care of women with high risk pregnancies requiring hospital care, labor and delivery of both low and high risk women, obstetrical emergencies, postpartum care, emergency department consultations and emergency gynecologic surgery, as well as in-hospital obstetrics and gynecology consultations. I have an interest in improving the quality of medical care and have been a member of a hospital wide clinical quality committee. I began working as an expert witness and consultant in 2019.
