He earned a Bachelor of Science (Sc.B.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with Honors at Brown University. He then received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Subsequently, he completed his General Surgery internship and Otolaryngology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary.
