Dr. Kucik retired from the U.S. Navy after 31.5 years of military experience to be hired as a Full Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine with the University of Washington School of Medicine. A Harvard-trained anesthesia intensivist, he previously served as a trauma instructor at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles County Medical Center, as an aviation and diving medicine specialist with several government entities, as the Specialty Leader (group lead of over 180 members worldwide) of Navy Anesthesiology, and in multiple Chief Medical Officer (CMO) tours, including as the first Congressionally-mandated oversight CMO of Guantanamo detention operations, requiring a Top Secret/Sensitive Comparted Information clearance. He continues to consult for the Military Commissions Defense Organization; for NATO Medical Evaluations; and on various industry, government, and medical malpractice cases.
