Ronald N. Gaster, MD, FACS, is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology formerly at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA and currently at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California, Irvine, and former Chief of Ophthalmology at the Long Beach V.A. Medical Center. He saw private patients at his offices in Beverly Hills and Orange County. Dr. Gaster's primary clinical and research interests are in corneal and refractive surgery, including LASIK, SMILE, PRK and corneal transplantation; small incision cataract surgery with the femtosecond laser and advanced technology intraocular lenses; and the latest treatments for dry eye disease, including IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). He has published on femtosecond laser enabled keratoplasty, and was a principal investigator on clinical trials involving Corneal Cross-Linking for Keratoconus.
