I conduct forensic neuropsychological evaluations in both civil and criminal matters. My work focuses on decision-making capacity in guardianship and related proceedings, competency to stand trial, and mental state at the time of the offense. I also perform independent medical examinations and provide consultation to attorneys regarding the strengths and limitations of opposing expert opinions. My evaluations are grounded in standardized neuropsychological testing, with embedded and stand-alone validity measures to assess effort and response style. I integrate test data with clinical interview, record review, and collateral information to form opinions that are objective, reproducible, and directly tied to the legal question at hand. Rocksheng Zhong, MD, MHS is Associate Professor, Director of Forensic Services, and Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Director in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch, as well as Lecturer in the Law and Psychiatry Division of the Yale School of Medicine. He completed medical school at the Yale School of Medicine, general psychiatry residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and forensic psychiatry fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine. He is board certified in general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, and addiction medicine.
