I am a dual board certified and fellowship trained Vascular and Interventional Radiologist. I am a clinical assistant professor at the University of Florida. I have experience in private practice prior to academic practice. I also have prior expert witness experience. I currently work at a large Level 1 trauma center, and my hospital is also a regional liver and kidney transplant center. I have a large experience with TIPS and cirrhosis / portal hypertension. I also have experience with liver transplant complications. A portion of my practice is devoted to treating DVT and PE. I perform DVT thrombectomy and IVC filter placement and retrieval. I have experience with complex IVC filter retrieval including removal of IVC filters protruding into the aorta (artery), bowel, and spine. Dr. Bansal is a quadruple board-certified (Neuro-Endovascular Surgery, Neuro-Critical Care, Vascular Neurology, Neurology) physician. His specializations include Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (Neuro-Endovascular Surgery), Stroke/Vascular Neurology, Neuro-Critical Care and General Neurology. He serves as the Director of Neurosciences and System-Wide Stroke Director for multiple Stroke Centers including a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Primary Stroke Center. Dr. Bansal is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Bansal is the Principal Investigator for multiple NIH trials related to Stroke and Neuro-Endovascular Surgery and he has authored multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. In addition to his medical expertise, Dr. Bansal has a JD with emphasis in Healthcare. I am a member in good standing of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, International Gamma Knife Society, American Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, American College of Surgeons and Southern Neurosurgical Society. I have lengthy experience in head and spinal injury treatment, spinal surgery, brain tumor surgery, pituitary surgery, gamma knife treatment, deep brain stimulation and neurosurgical critical care. I can provide review of medical records and expert testimony as required. I do not currently care for pediatric patients or perform endovascular procedures for stroke or vascular conditions.
