Dr. Freedman completed her pediatric critical care fellowship in 2011 at UCSD/Rady Children's Hospital. This was followed by an additional year of training in pediatric cardiology at UCLA/Mattel Children's Hospital. She went on to work for 1.5 years in a dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit before moving on to a combined medical/surgical and cardiac pediatric intensive care unit.
Her locums tenens work experience at multiple hospitals in multiple states has familiarized Dr. Freedman with a variety of approaches to, and unit models for, providing care to critically ill infants and children. She also has extensive experience volunteering in pediatric intensive care units in resource limited settings around the world
