Her previous experience managing U.S. Air Force and Navy base cleanup work transformed into directing environmental work at the five military base conversions underway in San Francisco: Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, the Presidio of San Francisco, Naval Station Treasure Island, Alameda Point Naval Air Station and Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Ms. Shipman is experienced in strategy development for environmental compliance and management, regulatory agency negotiation and community and public outreach.
