Before beginning his teaching career, Dr. Prindle was a corporate-wide consult for over 15 years in process analysis, development, and design at the Ethyl and Albemarle Corporations. His extensive knowledge of ASPEN Plus® allowed him to rapidly assist in the improvements to many of the major chemical processes these corporations operated during that time. While at Albemarle, he directed a lab for over a decade which standardized techniques for rapid commercialization of chemical processes using sophisticated lab-scale and small pilot-scale units. He also pioneered the development of many of the safety testing methodologies used to identify process hazards and ensure safe operation on the commercial-scale. Because of the expertise he developed, Dr. Prindle was asked to investigate many of the industrial incidents that occurred at Albemarle during that time.
