...She received two master’s degrees, one in Sports Medicine, and the other in Sports Administration from the University of Miami 1999, 2001), as well as her Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology (2010). As a licensed and certified athletic trainer, Dr. Harriell is recognized for her leading expertise in areas such as educational programming, design, development, accreditation, and assessment, with a specialty in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her research has focused on women’s health, cultural competency, and health and medical conditions that affect ethnically diverse individuals. Dr. Harriell is the National Committee Chair of the Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. She is a recipient of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Service Award as well as a member of the University of Miami’s “Iron Arrow Honor Society,” the highest honor that can be bestowed by the University.
