Additional Information

I have been providing testifying expert services for 9 years focusing on Intellectual Property and vehicle accident assessment for issues related to vehicle sensors, telematics, and data systems. I have provided reports and testimony on IPRs, infringement, validity and crash causation. I developed complex sensor and data analytics systems since 1980 with an emphasis on vehicle safety systems since 1992 and particular expertise in distributed systems and connected vehicle systems. I have in-vehicle technology expertise in the area of sensors (including maps, positioning, vision, radar, diagnostics and braking systems) and data processing (communications, data fusion, data analytics). I combine this with expertise on connecting vehicles with the infrastructure (cellular communications, V2X, WiFi, security, cost models, probe data collection) and the transportation infrastructure itself (traffic models, traffic operations, ATIS, tolling, data analytics, GIS) to provide various transportation applications (navigation, Usage Based Insurance (UBI), roadway management, information services (ATIS, 511), collision notification and warning, remote diagnostics electronic horizons, stability control, mapping, situational awareness and Driver Assistance (ADAS)). I have been certified in software forensics, and Accident Reconstruction from the Society of Automotive Engineers and Accreditation Committee for Accident Reconstruction. I have participated in, and led, the development of key telematics technologies working with major automakers (GM, Toyota, VW, Ford, Mercedes, BMW, Nissan) and suppliers, as well as federal and state government entities. Prior to joining the automotive industry I worked on various aerospace systems, including radar, reconnaissance, communications, artificial intelligence, and tracking systems, as well as software development. I am known for my ability to take complex subjects, explain them and excite my audience
