Patient care, safety, professionalism & integrity are central to my 40 years of medical practice. I have been involved in quality care & patient service in community, institutional & private practice settings. I received my Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After OB/GYN Residency, I maintained a solo OB/GYN practice—Women’s Lifecycles for 34 years, providing quality patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, bone densitometry and geriatric gynecology. We provided comprehensive medical care for women, utilizing nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, clinical densitometrists, ultrasonographers, & educators, with outreach to the Amish & Mennonite communities, Hispanics & others. With a solo practice of 16,000 patients, I participated in educational programs of Reading Hospital as attending physician supervising residents in OB/GYN & Family Medicine. I received the Chief Residents Teaching Award in 2018. I was a member of the Confidential Patient Safety & Peer Review Committee, representing independent practitioners. Medical students & allied health students visited my office regularly. I was Chair of the Obstetrics Section from 8/2003 through 9/2007, concentrating on quality care to all segments of Berks County & was Medical Director/ Consulting Physician of the Reading Birth & Women’s Center for 13 years. Since closing Women’s Lifecycles, I have continued my commitment to quality medical care as an OB/GYN Hospitalist, serving as emergency physician for women, providing urgent care for under-served populations in Southern Delaware. My fluency in Spanish is an important asset in working with patients utilizing our services. I participate in medical student education at Bayhealth, receiving a service award & will be Adjunct Faculty of the Drexel Medical School. I have worked as an expert witness, for more than twenty years, with a wide range of cases, both plaintive & defense.
